7 Clear Facts. Clear Aligners Made Easy

7 clear facts. Clear Aligners made easy.

Invisible, aligned, Invisalign is the name of one of the most well-known clear removable braces.  Tried and tested, they have been available for more than fifteen years.  If you envisage a brand new smile and are looking to straighten your teeth, I Love Straight Teeth have compiled this comprehensive list of facts to make it easy for you to choose your clear aligners.

1# What Are Invisalign?

Invisalign is a clear removable brace, custom made from a medical grade translucent plastic to fit over your teeth.  One size does not fit all. Your dentist will design your aligners to move specific teeth in a precise direction with gentle forces.

Invisalign braces are customised, comfortable, removable, effective and almost invisible.

As you replace each aligner twice a month with a new one, your teeth will move gently towards their envisaged final position, their correct position, transforming your smile, boosting your confidence and changing your outlook on life.

2# Why Invisalign?

Clear aligners are a safe and quick way to straighten mild to moderate overcrowded, crooked and gappy teeth; in particular, the front 2, 4, or 8 teeth which show when you smile.

Invisalign aligners are a very popular choice, especially for adults,  as they are almost invisible, they work quickly, and they are safe. No one will know you are wearing braces unless you tell them and they don’t interfere with your lifestyle.

Straight teeth are healthy teeth as they are easier to keep clean. Overcrowded teeth make it difficult to clean, as your toothbrush can’t reach all the surfaces of your teeth. In most cases,  if this condition is not treated,  it could end up causing gum disease, decay, and eventual tooth loss.

3# What Happens At A Consultation?

Only professionals who have received specialised training can work with Invisalign. You attend your first consultation with one of our dentists to discuss your Invisalign braces.  He will examine your teeth and gums to see they are healthy.  X-rays will help with the diagnosis.  Your dentist will show you which teeth need to move to give you your most attractive smile.  If you are a suitable candidate for braces, you will be given all the information you need, such as your brace options for alternative treatments, the time your treatment will take and how much your Invisalign braces will cost.

4# And Next?

Impressions will be taken of your teeth from which a model is made. From the model of both your upper and lower arch, the dentist can see if you have any bite problems. We now have a precise measurement of your teeth and their position and know how many aligners you will need for your treatment. A treatment plan is put together, and you can see how your teeth will look after treatment. Your Invisalign aligners are then created.

5# Your Progress

Shortly after your first appointment, we fit your first aligner. You are given clear instructions on how to wear and look after your braces. The aligner must be worn 22h a day. You must remove your aligner to eat, and you must clean your teeth every time you eat.  Your oral hygiene routine is essential to the progress of your treatment.

Your dentist will monitor your progress, and you will receive a new aligner every 2-3 weeks for the duration of your treatment.  What could be easier!

5# How Long Do Invisalign Take To Straighten Teeth?

Everyone’s teeth are different, so there are no hard and fast rules. We can determine how long your teeth will take to straighten at your first consultation.  However, six months is average with Invisalign; some patients take a little more, some patients take less.

6# How Much Do Invisalign Cost?

It all depends on the complexity of the issue which needs correcting and whether you need one arch straightened or both your top and bottom teeth. The dentist will be able to determine the cost at your first consultation. Just as a guideline, Invisalign aligners to straighten one arch have a starting price of £1500 and both arches start at £2500.  Your initial consultation is free and the exact price of your braces will be determined so you can make your decision.

To make Invisalign clear aligners, straighten teeth, and a fantastic smile within your reach, we offer various price plans to suit your budget.  Straight teeth can be yours sooner than you might think!

7# And Lastly

Once your treatment is complete and you have a great new smile, you will need to keep it that way.  You will be fitted with a retainer to wear day and night for the first few weeks.  The retainer will keep your teeth in place without making further adjustments.

Invisalign braces are a commitment.  You will need a permanent or removable retainer fitted to be worn regularly to prevent your teeth from moving back into their original position.
